2000-11-20 - 14:21:41 Just another Monday ...
*frustrated noise* I just opened a package of pantyhose this morning. Brand new. The strong, "active wear" kind that are supposed to last forever. Riiiight. Two hours! I think that's a record, even for me. There's now a great horrific run in the knee, and no fingernail polish in sight to stop it from running all the way down the ankle and peeping out from under my skirt. You'd think, after wearing the things at least one day a week for all my life, I'd know how NOT to ruin my hose! I don't think any pair I've ever owned has lasted more than two weeks, tops! *sigh* Yes, that's right, I said SKIRT. I have a geek job, but I count as "office personnel" here, and being female, the only day a week I get to wear jeans is Friday. I am so SICK of constant feminine attire. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing nice ... a couple of days per week, or to go out. But when you only have so many "businessy" dress/skirt outfits, wearing them again and again and again ... Arrrrgh. Anyway. *clearing throat* I didn't mean to get aggravational this morning. I actually had a pretty darn good weekend. I broke out Diablo II again on Saturday (haven't played it in months) and finally beat the big guy on the normal setting ... Boy, is that "secret cow level" a hoot. I bet the programmers on that one had a blast. Wonder if it works again after you beat it on Nightmare ... Then, Sunday, I went to the movies again with my brother. We caught Sixth Day and Grinch. I was amazed at the lines for Grinch ... seems like everyone who ever read that book as a child was there, bringing their kids to see the movie version. It was OK. Not as magical as the cartoon version, though. As for Sixth Day ... it was good. A bit odd, but I enjoyed it. Arnold didn't get to deliver his "trademark line", but it was pretty close ... "I might be back", he said. =^) The previews looked good, too ... I've never played DnD, but wow, does the movie look spectacular. Thanks to CG, the fantasy genre finally has a fighting chance on the big screen. And the new Mel Gibson movie ... I don't know. Wierd. It depends on how they end it. I might have to declare a Chick Flick Day and drag someone off with me to see it. I also decided something this weekend. I have an email to write. (I like the personal aspect of letters, but I prefer the speed of the 'Net). And we'll see what happens. I may write more here about it, or I may not, it all depends.
