Christmas wishes, quotes, and a diary decision

This will be my last entry until 12/27 -- I'm heading home for Christmas in about an hour.

Merry Christmas, All! May the day sparkle with joy.

In the meantime, a few quotes to mull over:

"Genuine words are being replaced by idle chatter. Words no longer possess any weight. There is too much talk." -- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

"God asks no man whether he will accept life. That is not the choice. You must take it. The only choice is how." -- Henry Ward Beecher

"To pass judgment on another is to usurp shamelessly a prerogative of God." -- St. John Climacus

"The more you try to avoid suffering, the more you suffer, because smaller and more insignificant things begin to torture you, in proportion to your fear of being hurt." -- Thomas Merton

"Every perfection in this life has some imperfection attached to it, and there is no knowledge in this world that is not mixed with some blindness or ignorance." -- Thomas a Kempis

"Don't be so morbid about the fact that you're selfish; don't deny that you are self-regarding, but work in life and hoe that by grace -- this perhaps is the door to the real answer -- you will be redeemed. By grace." -- Reinhold Niebuhr

These are all quotes I found useful for myself in the middle of the mess I found myself in. (In other words, NOT directed at anybody).

Likewise, in the future, I will NEVER make the mistake of addressing a diary entry TO anybody, and I will do my best not to say anything negative ABOUT anybody I know, no matter how much it presses on my mind. I do not wish to give this diary up, nor to be any less honest, and therefore I believe this is the only way to go if I hope to keep my more sensitive 'Net-enabled friends.

I love you guys. Despite everything. *sigh* What's that you say? Go f*** myself? Sorry, I don't believe I'm equipped for that ....
