A brief respite from unpacking

I'm adding an entry on the fly today ... I'm at the university's Portland building, not my office, so I'm afraid I can't update my "Millionaire" questions. I'm sure everybody is disappointed now. *teasing grin*

Well, all my junk is now in the apartment ... although the only things actually unpacked are my clothing, my bed linens, and my computer. Everything else is sitting in boxes waiting for me to get ambitious enough to organize.

I suppose I'll have the time for it ... this IS a three-day weekend, after all, one of the very few we get at this university. There are only 11 paid holidays in a year, and six of them are used up for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Actually, I suppose that's not bad for being employed; it's just that I miss the longer breaks I had in my college days. =^)

At least my mother supplied us with plenty of food ... Azash and I won't starve before the next paycheck, although we probably will run out of toothpaste and other things we forgot that neither of us currently own. And then there's all those things we have double of ... you should see our collections of canned food, snacks, movies, and computer games -- it's truly amazing!

Well, I have to get going ... I was just here for a few minutes with Jocasta. She's taking me on a Grand Tour of the Tigard area, since she learned to drive in this area and I'm afraid I'm completely clueless. All I know is 99W and the various fast food joints, movie theaters, grocery stores, and video rental places strung along its length. *grin*
