2001-02-05 - 981408468 Black cider, forest feel, and Magic card collections
*sigh* Azash and I went to the parents' yesterday ... we were going to go to Wilsonville to pick up some black hard cider (there's only one store we've found that carries it) ... and then he wanted to keep going, to pick up some Magic cards, so we drove on down to Salem to his favorite card shop ... and since we were there, only twenty minutes from our parents, we drove on over, and dropped off my tax forms and the extra VCR from our apartment. Well, it was a nice visit ... but my mom is still miserable with the dry socket; they've got her on antibiotics and pain meds, but there's still enough pain that she's been avoiding eating and drinking, and got herself dehydrated as a result. She didn't look so good. They've finished recreating my old room, though ... Before Mom's whole tooth problem hit last week, they stripped the old wallpaper off and repainted it in cream and soft green, with a Thomas Kinkade border running around the middle of the room. Then they dug around the house (and in a few stores) for lots of outdoorsy or fishing or hunting or manly items to decorate it with ... an old black powder pistol, some miniature lanterns, an old pirate-chest type trunk, etcetera, etcetera. It looks pretty cool. Speaking of Magic cards, if any of my readers once played and are now sick of the whole thing, please email me. I'll make you an offer on your collection. Azash is bound and determined to get me to play the game with him, and I can't do that without any cards. *grin* *yawn* My thoughts aren't all too connected at the moment, since I'm a little short on sleep, but I'm still in a pretty content mood ... Interesting. I wonder when I'll crash next? Hopefully not anytime soon. I'm getting some things done on my novel, and I was inspired to check the 'net for more genealogical data last week ... Found a new connection! One of my ancestors was Governor William Bradford, the second governor of the Plymouth colony. Cool, yes? Later ...
