Viruses: The Silent Killer of Coherent Thought

Did I say I had another New Database meeting? I should have said, another THREE meetings. One this morning, one in about ten minutes, and another tomorrow morning ... with the possibility of more stretching vaguely into the future. *sigh* They still have no idea what to do to integrate our department into the system.

Of course, it doesn't help that the big New Database is actually a conglomerate of smaller databases, whose creator-companies were recently acquired by XXXX Parent Company, and none of them really talk to each other yet. In two or three years, this system might kick some serious ass, but right now all it does is confuse everyone and tie them up in knots. They don't even have demos available for us to test before it all gets installed. Figures.

*cough* *sniffle* I really wish I didn't have this next meeting to go to. I feel as though someone took sealant to the inside of my lungs ... it's not a visibly bad cold yet, just a bit of runny nose and head-cloudiness, but the difficulty-breathing thing always hits me early. Phlegm. Ugggh. I need cold meds, but I can't take cold meds at work because they all invariably put me to sleep.

Maybe after the meeting I can cash in some sick leave and go curl up at home with a blanket, a cup of tea, and a nice movie. Azash drove to the parents' today to get his car checked over, so I have the place to myself. =)

Update Not Worthy Of Its Own Entry: I have just gone through all of 2001's entries and put in back-next links! *cheering to self* Hope it comes in handy.
