2001-03-27 - 09:07 a.m. Cold sores, Chinese food, and depressing duties
Answer to Monday's $250,000 question: D. Saturn's Rings. Today's Q at entry's end. I did go home yesterday at noon -- the dizziness was starting to make me nauseous. It's pretty much gone today, but I'm still not A-OK; now I've got a monstrosity of a cold sore growing next to my mouth. I hate cold sores. I haven't had one in years ... I thought they'd gone away for good! Cold sore lore says that things like stress, bad diet, lack of sleep, et cetera, can trigger an outbreak. So why now, instead of during my crazy-stress, crazy-food, crazy-hours college days? The only thing I've done differently lately is to start exercising again. That had better not be the trigger! It's hard enough as it is to scrape myself out of bed early in the morning, without worrying about ugly colonies of pustules popping up around my lips. Anyway. I spent the rest of yesterday afternoon curled up in my brother's computer chair, playing EverQuest. My newbie High Elf Magician made it to level 6 before Azash came home and wanted to play. He's got a level 18 character; much higher than mine, but still far from the "really fun levels", he says. *laugh* I'd settle for being able to run free in Crushbone, at the moment. We went to a really great Chinese buffet and ordered takeout for dinner -- $8.95 gets you enough food for two or three meals, and it's only $6.95 if you go during their lunch hours. You get to pick several vegetable and meat ingredients, then they boil them a little, and toss them into a wok with several seasonings and flip it around for awhile. It tastes delicious. It also comes with two side dishes. (Now I sound like an advertisement!!) Azash made me pay, since I just got my federal refund check. I told him he'd better take me to the Rhinelander when his comes, he's getting a much larger refund. *grin* Then we watched "The Mummy" again on DVD. Yup, the recent one, with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Wiecz. (She was also in the new movie, "Enemy at the Gates" ... a spectacular war drama, with an actual happy ending!!) *laugh* For some reason, I always think that Imhotep is much more attractive than any of the other male characters in "The Mummy" ... well, at least when he's not dripping bandages and rotting flesh. I know Hildegaard thinks the same, and I've heard other people share that opinion, too. So here's my question: Who is he? What other movies has he been in? I'm drawing a complete blank. Today will be less entertaining, I'm afraid. I have to go out in this miserable weather and knock on various doors and ask if I can measure all the internal walls, doors, and windows. Joy. I don't think I can take a helper, either. This is going to take forever ... and it'll probably eat up tomorrow and Thursday too. I'll only get to access the Web in the mornings. *sigh* Plus, Azash says the next three days (counting today) are entirely his for EverQuest. Well, at least I get Friday off, and he doesn't. =) Well, I'd better get offline and look productive. I have to run the mail in a few minutes, and then it's trudge, trudge, trudge for me. [For $500,000]: What country's national flag is not in the shape of a rectangle? A. Nepal B. Qatar C. Guyana D. Liechtenstein
