Updates: little importance, much amusement

Hmmm. A few days off from my diary, and not much happened worth reporting. I had a brief panic attack over the bills again last week, but hey, that's getting to be the norm for me. I had sinus issues with the weather cooling off and overslept Saturday ... until 4pm. WTF? There went the best part of my weekend ... the day when my brother works and I don't. *shrug* The next day I woke up instantly after only 6 hours of sleep, so go figure.

I watched "Angel" last night, and laughed myself silly at the Cordelia/Wesley imitation of the Buffy/Angel romance. "I love you so much, I almost forgot to brood!" Heh. It occurs to me that although I care for the characters on "Buffy" more, I am enjoying this season's "Angel" more than "Buffy". Why? Probably because the characters I like most on "Buffy" are all stuck in painful plotlines, and it hurts to watch them.

Speaking of new shows, I was more amused than entertained by last week's episodes of "Smallville" and "Enterprise". Good grief. Talk about plot holes you can drive a truck through! Oh well. Perhaps the writing will improve once they get further out of the starting gate. Check Mighty Big TV for some absolutely hilarious recaps of those shows (and several others). I'm getting to love that site; it's a great mood-enhancer.

The Madman's wedding is only a few weeks away now ... Hard to believe. I always thought he'd be the last of the gang to march down the aisle. Now I have five married couples on my Christmas List ... No, six. Agh. My married friends now officially outnumber the unmarried ones, even if you don't count all the babies the marrieds already have among them.

I'll have to remember to buy some more film before the wedding, especially if I go the long way so I can stop by KaDee's house and coo over her new little boy. Two happy encounters, gorgeous scenery along the way, what more could a girl ask for? I adore road trips. Even though I really can't afford this one. It'll be over 24 hours of driving total by the time I get back home, not counting stops for sleep and visiting and the wedding. Gasoline and food expenses alone are going to cripple me, but I'd never forgive myself if I didn't go. This is what credit cards are for!

Heh, and I suppose this is what singleness is for, too. Being able to go do whatever. My bank account might protest, but it's not very vocal; a spouse and children would really gum up the works. There's all kinds of other happiness inherent in marriage, but I haven't really explored most of the single kinds of happiness yet, have I? Hey, that was a good thought! It put my nesting instinct back into hibernation! Phew. I was starting to get all old-maidy again, with all these wedding bells ringing around me. *grin*

*stretch* Damn chair. Over the last year, I've learned enough strange back-muscle contortions to pop every vertebra in my spine. You might think this was a plus, until you realize it's because every vertebra has needed popping at one point or another, all due to this workstation. Not to mention, it makes me look rather silly when the boss walks by and I've got one arm wrapped around my body backwards, the other stretched out to the left, one foot up on the desk, and my head turned to face behind me. *snerk*

Enough procrastination ... back the mindless data entry that is my latest project. *sigh*
