2002-04-11 - 11:56 a.m. Enjoying every morning to the fullest? Well, I can only try.
A moment ago I yawned, stretched, and looked up at the ceiling over my chair. Absentmindedly, I started counting light panels in my head. One, two, three ... *giggle* "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!" Fortunately, there wasn't anyone walking by when I blurted that out. I don't think that Star Trek reference would be nearly as funny if I had to explain it. *grin* Earlier this morning I spent about an hour teaching the safety manager here how to change his Excel spreadsheets into Access tables and build reports and queries on them. It was kinda fun. I could dig the teaching thing, except that I'm always losing the words to describe whatever it is I'm trying to demonstrate. For example, "Click on the, the, um, that button on the toolbar under the word 'File'." When really, I should have said, "Click on the Preview button. It's the one at the far left with the sheet of paper and the magnifying glass on it." *slapping forehead* Duh, Shell. What good is a massive vocabulary when you can't put it to use when you need it? My saying of the day: "Of course I'm warped -- it's faster than impulse." Which reminds me. It's about time to create a new textgear quote list. I moved the Evil Overlord one to the "Filed Away" page, and the Quips and Quotes one, though still extremely funny, is getting old. Hmm. This will require some consideration. Anyone have suggestions for a source for my next quote list? No further notes at the moment. I think I'll go cruise eBay for awhile; Mom says my state tax refund check came yesterday, so I have another $100 or so to waste. I'll save part of it, but aah, the joy of spending. I'll have to button up again this summer when Azash is out of work and hide my credit cards, so I might as well enjoy myself now, eh? << back | next >>
