A fun-filled, catastrophical Friday. It might as well be the 13th, not the 12th. =)

Ugh. What a day, what a day.

First thing this morning, I was late to work. That was OK, because I knew I'd be staying a little late anyway, to do some inventorying. When I went out to my car at 8:15, I noticed that (1) the sprinklers were running, and (2) my neighbor in the duplex, who uses half the driveway, had a tent over her car. A friggin' picnic pavilion thingy. So I backed out crooked so as not to hit it, and guess what I did instead?

Yup. I drove right over a sprinkler head and snapped the damn thing. I knew it was spraying funny when I glanced in my rear-view mirror, and felt guilty all the way to work, so the minute I got there, I called my apartment manager, and said "I think I may have driven over a sprinkler head." And I got an earful of his angst about how they have to shut down the sprinkler system and dig it up and replace it. Oy. I hope they don't charge me, because it really was accidental.

Then, after lunch, I had to contact the good folks at HP-Compaq technical support to try and get a printer replaced, and they gave me the absolute runaround for 45 minutes. The primary user for this printer is in Newport, a good three hours' drive from here, and the techs kept telling me that the USER has to be sitting there, with printer hooked up and able, to troubleshoot it with them before they can help us AT ALL. *aggreived sigh*

Now, it's 4:15 in the afternoon, it's 95 degrees outside, and I'm running around in a long jean dress on my hands and knees under furniture with inadequate air conditioning to engrave serial numbers on computers. My knees ache, my fingers ache, I'm sweating, my hair's getting all fly-away, and everywhere I go people are annoyed at the noise. What, do they think I'm not? Two hours of this is more than enough.

On the upside, only 45 minutes until the weekend. I think I can survive that long, even if I have to go crawl around with the engraver the whole time.

I hope y'all are having better Fridays!!! Blessings, all.
